We are thrilled to announce that Laney Briggs has joined Highlands Residential Mortgage as VP Regional Manager for the Southeast Region! With over 30 years in the mortgage industry, Laney is a seasoned professional whose leadership and experience are invaluable assets to our team. Starting his career in mortgage loan servicing in 1995, Laney quickly moved into loan origination. His journey led him to work for the largest mortgage bank in Arkansas, where he gained the knowledge and expertise that propelled him into production management. He first served as a producing branch manager and later as a Regional Manager at BancorpSouth.
Laney transitioned to the IMB world in 2015, spending nearly nine years as a Regional Manager with Gateway Mortgage. His dedication to the industry is further exemplified by his leadership roles as a past-President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Arkansas (2008-2010) and his recent appointment by Governor Sarah Sanders to the Arkansas State Commission for Appraisers, Abstractors, and Home Inspectors, where he will serve a six-year term.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Laney is a family man, married to his wife, Mary Jane, for 31 years, and a proud father to his daughter, Mary Claire. When he’s not working, you’ll find him on the golf course, duck hunting, or cheering on his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks.
