Highlands Residential Mortgage Holds Backpack Drive for the SoupMobile

People who are homeless often carry their entire lives with them everywhere they go. Having a backpack is a blessing as it eases their load.

Our team at Highlands always wants to make a difference especially in the lives of individuals who are economically, spiritually, and socially underserved. Recently, we held a backpack drive to collect backpacks for the SoupMobile to distribute to the homeless. Thanks to all those who donated!

Founded in 2003 on a wing and many prayers, the SoupMobile is a mobile soup kitchen that feeds and shelters the homeless in Dallas. This organization is different from traditional soup kitchens in that they’re mobile. They deliver food to areas where many homeless people flock. SoupMobile is on the front lines in the war against hunger.

We’ve been helping the SoupMobile achieve their mission since 2013, and they’re one of our few primary charities that we support. In selecting a nonprofit, we choose those that directly impact people with sustaining help. And that’s exactly what SoupMobile does as they serve an impressive 200,000 meals per year.
