Highlands Residential Mortgage Resources

If you’re struggling to find your WFH (Work From Home) rhythm, check out these five tips to help get you back on track and in command of your workday.

  1. Start Early

We know the early bird gets the worm. But in your case, starting early gets you something even better – less stress and more productivity. Before the barrage of emails hits, getting an early jump on the day allows you to organize, prioritize, and work without the distractions of normal business hours.

  1. Choose a Dedicated Workspace

Your workspace matters. Rather than working on the couch or in your room (places traditionally known for relaxation), find a dedicated space that can be consistently yours. The key is to have a place in your home where you can focus on work while maintaining other places for relaxation.

  1. Remove Distractions

While we can’t remove all distractions at home, we can set ourselves up for success by making a few small changes to our day. Here are a few easy, but effective, options: 1) Turn off your cell phone notifications for a few hours, 2) Stay off social media, 3) Set a timer dedicated to focused, uninterrupted time.

  1. Stay Connected With Your Team

Working from home can be isolating (yes, even for introverts!). Take advantage of your company’s technology and opt for video meetings instead of phone calls or emails. Allowing time to connect with other team members can help boost your mood and improve team chemistry.

  1. Turn Up The Volume!

Whether it’s “Eye of the Tiger” or a Beethoven Symphony, play music that helps you stay focused and motivated. And if you don’t already have a streaming service like Spotify, we think it’s worth taking a look at. With Spotify, you can customize your own playlists or choose from playlists that others have created -like the “Work From Home” playlist that has over 660,000 motivated workers listening.
